2021 Taipei Fashion Week
SS22 Brand Show: Claudia Wang
In October 2021, Feng Shui Vision and designer Wang Zixin teamed up to create a brand feast of virtual and real integration for its eponymous brand Claudia Wang; in Taipei 101 AMBI SPACE ONE ultra-high-definition digital immersive stage, 12 phantoms were worn by virtual models. A set of virtual garments was presented interactively with 30 physical garments worn by real models, taking the narrative of the fashion show to a whole new level.
This project had to address two major technical challenges in a very short production schedule:
The first was the realistic virtual model catwalk performance, coupled with the natural virtual clothing dynamic simulation effect. Feng Shui Vision used high-level optical motion capture technology to convert the unique walking style of fashion supermodels on cat walk into digital motion data, and then used the latest MetaHuman Creator cutting-edge technology, quickly create a number of exquisite virtual models, and finally integrate virtual clothing dynamic simulation data in Unreal Engine to present high-quality virtual dynamic characters and virtual dynamic clothing effects.
The second challenge was to produce 30 minutes ultra-high-resolution animation for the venue to air from multi-angle projections. Feng Shui Vision constructed realistic and imaginative 3D scenes and visual special effects with Unreal Engine based on the situation concept provided by the designer to successfully create a perfectly integrated virtual and real immersive performance field.
Taipei Fashion Week is a major annual event in Taiwan's fashion circle. Designers show their creativity and brand power through the stage, and use the best side to attract the attention of buyers and consumers. Through this creative collaboration between different industries, Feng Shui Vision expects to spark new applications from the combination between virtual production technology and fashion in the near future.
